Khalid is also the first R&B artist to reach number one since The Weeknd’s My Dear Melancholy in April, 2018.
Free Spirit contains 17 songs and features SAFE and John Mayer on “Don’t Pretend” and “Outta My Head.” It follows American Teen and an intermediate EP titled Suncity.
The El Paso singer delivered videos for “Better,” “Talk,” and “Free Spirit” to promote his album. He also recently announced a Free Spirit world tour, which kicks off June 20th.
Khalid is pushing “Talk” as his LP’s lead single and even dropped a remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion and Yo Gotti last Friday.
