Blackface Drags Wizkid And Banky W To Court For Copyright Infringement

Copyright infringement is the use of works protected by copyright law without permission, infringing certain exclusive rights granted to the copyright holder, such as the right to reproduce, distribute, display or perform the protected work, or to make derivative works. Former Plantashun Boiz member, Augustine Amedu largely known as Blackface has always been unlucky when it comes to songs theft. He had accused Psquare and 2face for similar offence.
Recently, he filed a suit against Wizkid and his former boss, Banky W for copyright Infringement.

Few months ago, Blackface threatened those who stole his intellectual property that him and his legal team are coming after them. It is happening now. However, Wizkid and Banky W are yet to respond.

See the statement released by Blackface;
"I have remained quiet while my name has been dragged in the mud the past few years. Some of Nigeria's biggest artists have infringed on my copyrights but I always restricted myself to speaking out against this in the media. Maybe because I always felt that music is an art and not really a business where you bring in lawyers and all that.That's why I couldn't believe when I was sued for N50m by the same people who stole my intellectual property.

I have nothing personal against Wizkid & Banky, in fact I can say I groove to both their music, but the fact is that they stole my song in 2011 and there's clear evidence to prove it. We'll allow the Court to decide."
