International Literacy Day: Gov. El-Rufai Advocates For The Right To Education


Today is International Literacy Day and the Kaduna State Governor, His Excellency Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai a man who is so keen on education has joined the rest of the world to advocate for the right to education. The reformer shared his humble educational history to show his support to close the literacy and skills gap and improve people’s lives!

According to him, he started life in the rural area as the son of a pensioner and without public education, he would have been an illiterate. The active governor strongly believe that the children of the poor are entitled to the same opportunity he got.

El-Rufai said;

“I started life in rural Daudawa as the son of a pensioner. Without public education, I would not have gone to school. I believe that the children of the poor are entitled to the same opportunities that I was given.”
